Gallery news: December opening party & a review by Inara

'Monique – Moni to her friends – is one of my favourite artists when it comes to narrative avatar studies; her work is richly evocative, sometimes provocative, and always fascinating to read and admire. Such is the richness of her work, Moni has been a semi-regular at Nitroglobus over the last few years, and it is always a pleasure to see her work there. Last Sunday there was an opening party with music of Betty Tureaud (DJ Boo) and DJ Ghost. Venus Adored was in charge of the particles. It was a lovely evening and of course I made a lot of images of all visitors. 

For those who weren't able to tp in, the exhibition 'Sensation & Perception' will be on the walls of Nitroglobus during the entire month of December. Here's your taxi to the gallery.

 

Forbidden Fruit exhibition In the press

Short blogpost this time just super happy and proud with this review by Inara Pey in het blog Modem World. As always a great analysis of the exhibition and the artist. Please read it.

The exhibition 'Forbidden Fruit' by Monique (Moni) Beebe will be on the walls of Nitroglobus gallery for another 10 days, before I change exhibtions. 

When arriving at the gallery, you cannot overlook the mesh sculpture, which Kai Kohime made exclusively for this exhibition: you will be welcomed by drifting cherries and pears.

'Forbidden Fruit' exhibition, the January 2020 exhibition at Nitroglobus

'Forbidden Fruit' the present (January 2020) exhibition by Monique (Moni) Beebe at Nitroglobus gallery. 

I am really happy to present for the 4th time an exhibition by my SL and RL friend Moni Beebe.

This time, however, next to images in her more 'usual' sensuous, evocative style which present studies of the female body (her own), Moni got inspired by a RL exhibition of famous Dutch photographer Erwin Olaf, which she visited last Spring in the Gemeentemuseum The Hague. Especially the mood of the early series 'Squares' and 'Chessmen' by Mr Olaf you will notice are reflected in some of the images of this present exhibition 'Forbidden Fruit'.

Moreover, Kai Kohime created 'Pink Cherries'; an awesome mesh vuluptuous female sculpture surrounded by cherries and pears, AND fitting perfectly with the images of Moni.

The opening party took place last Sunday 29 December, with particles by Venus Adored and music by DJ Ferdy.
