Opening party @ Nitroglobus for 'The Meaning of Love'

On Tuesday, 10 March there was an opening party for Natalia Seranade's exhibition 'The Meaning of Love' at Nitroglobus.
DJ Betty Boo (so happy she was able to replace DJ Ferdy who had severe pc problems) tuned truly awesome music and Venus Adored gave a superb particles show
. At the end of the evening Kurk Mumfuzz joined Venus and they both made an even bigger show.
Lots of people visited, the atmosphere was positive and relaxed and Natalia was showered with compliments about her works.

The Meaning of Love by Natalia Seranade @ Nitroglobus

Natalia is back at Nitroglobus and I am super glad with her creative, always surprising, colorful and unique works on the walls of the gallery. This time her exhibition is based on the experiences of several people in Second Life love relationships.
An interesting theme in my humble opinion.

Opening party: Tuesday, 10 March 1 pm SLT (= 21 hrs Amsterdam time).
YES .... 1 pm SLT coz it's SUMMER TIME in the USA.

'The Meaning of Love' (in SL)

Beside the 'happy' and 'sad' love affairs, which are more or less equal to the ones in RL, there are also the love affairs that fail  because of the specific RISKS present when getting involved in a virtual relationship. Natalia calls this 'the dark side'.

For example: the large amount of people who lie, who pretend to be a person they are not, giving false information, showing fake pictures, etc.
People with addictions, people with mental  disorders, people with more that one avatar (ALTs) used for 'bad' purposes like spying or harassing, or, used even to have other 'lives' with other relationships.
People who do ghosting: the practice of ceasing all communication and contact with a partner, without any apparent justification and subsequently ignoring any attempts to reach out or communicate made by said partner.

Behind the screen people tend to show the good and hide their flaws. There are many disappointments.
It seems that everything in SL happens more fast then in RL: some people meet, immediately start a relationship and get married (partnered). However, most of the time a fast start indicates a fast ending. One of the reasons being that in the minds of the partners they create an ideal figure of who they hope to find. This idealization creates expectations and people get hurt when things don't go as they expected. The mind can turn 'nothing' into 'everything' and 'everything' into 'nothing'.

Love in SL is it real or just a fantasy?

The gallery moved: Nitroglobus Hall became Nitroglobus Roof Gallery

Two weeks ago I suddenly had to move Nitroglobus Hall to another place on the grid, because Joa, my dear friend and the owner of the sim where Nitroglobus Hall was situated high up into the sky, no longer could pay. All this happened within a very short while. So, you can imagine lots of stress and hard work.

The new gallery is called Nitroglobus Roof Gallery and it's located above my SL home at Sunshine Homesteads. Here's your taxi

All the works of the exhibition 'Awakening' by Natalia Seranade were moved too and will be on the walls of Nitroglobus Roof Gallery till the end of October.

Let me tell you something about her exhibition and moreover show you some photos, which I made of the gallery featuring Natalia's works.

***

Bringing street photography into Second Life, Natalia captures chance encounters, random incidents and morphs them, using Photoshop, into works of art.

"I am grabbing things that appear in front of me, moments and sensations. I keep them as treasures, which are open in moments when I want to color the silence.
When my imagination and fantasies are flying, I mix the collected stuff with new things that appear in the moment, I never know what can appear, and I never know what will be the result. I am in another world where I am able to find what was unknown to my eyes... "

This exhibition 'Awakening' shows concepts and situations of a process of awakening and awareness...
Why is my reflection someone I do not know?

Hope to cu all at my new gallery: Nitroglobus Roof Gallery.
