Postcards from the Subconscious @ Nitroglobus Hall; the May-June 2016 exhibition

'Postcards from the Subconscious' by Maloe Vansant & Burk Bode, the May-June 2016 exhibition @ Nitroglobus Hall.

I am super happy and proud to present to you 'Postcards from the Subconscious' by Maloe and Burk, a famous talented couple in the SL art scene, are back at Nitroglobus with work that can only be made by them; their style, their constant quest in exploring their dark side.

'Postcards from the Subconscious' explained by the artists themselves:

This exhibition is like a child. It was planned friendly and glamorous. But as always our unconsciousness send us postcards. Feelings like bubbles coming up that told us we had to make just this picture and no other.

So at the end our child is not what we planned it to be. It became somebody dark and nasty. Looking at us like a misbehaving child and telling us: 'I don't like you'. Astonished we answer: 'but we love you and we made you!?!'

Our child turned out to be somebody else: dark, coz it emerged from the dark sides of our souls. Sticking out its tongue and smiling at us boldly. But we still love it ...

New Exhibition 'The Wall' by GoodCross @ Nitroglobus Hall

'The Wall', the April 2016 exhibition @ Nitroglobus Hall

What can a person do with a wall? Well a lot it seems when you look around in Nitroglobus Hall: one can stand on top of a wall, under a wall, besides a wall...

But that's not what this exhibition by GoodCross is really about. It's about emotions. Each image shown reflects an emotion.
Come and see for yourself.

Opening Party: Sunday 3 April 2016
Time: 12.30 pm SLT = 21.30 hrs Amsterdam time
Music by DJ Ferdy
Place: Nitroglobus Hall

This project is GoodCross documenting the emotional walls that we all build in, and around us, especially true in case of our lives in Second Life.
In the infogiver at the entrance point of the gallery you'll find, next to the Bio of GoodCross, also a list of all his works exhibited with an accompanying song (youtube url included).. Great to take a tour and stroll along the images and listen to the music the artist picked to fit the image.

GoodCross came into Second Life on 8/31/2011,  the bug of photography in SL soon caught up on him, and he has just been absorbed with it and all skills around it. He spends almost all his time in second life, creating and documenting little stories to fit inside the 4 sides of a frame.

GoodCross is the owner, curator of The Good Days Gallery
More of his work you'll find on his Flickr page: https://www.flickr.com/photos/goodcross

Live music in the Cafe of Nitroglobus Hall

My dear friend and landlord Joa and I we love art AND music. And music is what it's about in this blog post.
About a week ago Joa arranged for Portuguese fado singer Zoree Jupiter (Treza Bettencourt) to perform in the cafe of my gallery (Nitroglobus Hall). An enormous success, soo many came to listen to Zoree's moving songs.

Last Sunday Joa tped me over to Cool Cat's Music Circus, where singer songwriter, guitarist Mark Allan Jensen was performing. Wow, we both loved it and I asked Mark if he was willing to perform at my Cafe. He said yes after I showed him and his lovely wife Wendy my gallery and the cafe.
So it was decided Mark would perform Wednesday, 23 March at 1.30 pm SLT.

Yesterday evening (23 March) again we had full house. Mark played a lot of his originals, which I love so much. Please take some time to listen to his songs: here's the url to his website
No doubt Mark will return to the cafe soon to perform again. We all couldn't get enough of his music.

I received a lot of IM's of people telling me they love these music events and appreciate me organizing. Well Joa and I we love it too. I appointed Joa as my music scout. Curious who will be the next he spots, and who's willing to perform at the cafe :-)

For those interested: I announce the music events upfront in Facebook Events, on my Dido Petra Haas Facebook page, on my Dido Haas FlickR and I send information to my Nitroglobus Gallery SL group (when you like to join this group please IM me and I will add you).

Shadows of a Dream @ Nitroglobus Hall - party time

Some overview images I made yesterday of the present exhibition 'Shadows of a Dream' by Angelika Corral & SheldonBr at my gallery. I love this exhibition, the second one in my own gallery.
The black and white images fit well with the mood of the gallery. Makes it sort of an enchanting place.

Please feel welcome to visit when you like.

The Journey Home @ Nitroglobus Hall

work by Ini

The works are hanging on the walls now, the first exhibition I organized on my own, in my new gallery - The Hall (Nitroglobus Hall). The opening party is scheduled (this Friday, the 15th of January) and I marketed it as much as I could in the various social media.

The opening party will start at 1 pm SLT (= 22 hrs Amsterdam/9 pm London time).
Music by DJ Khaz Rotaru
Place: Nitroglobus Hall

I am happy and proud to host Ini's exhibition 'The Journey Home'. This girl is so talented, and moreover a dear friend of me and of my beloved partner Nitro.

Ini's art is always surprising, unique, true and with deep emotions.
This exhibition is about the journey home, whatever and wherever that home is; a real house, or a city, a country, or the end of the line, i.e. death...or love.
We are all always travelling, coz after all life itself is a journey.

Aren't we all travelling in life to find a home, whatever, where ever
and with whom that may be?
