Paradise, Minerva, Arabella and Mayfly

Meeting Mr. S. is looking at you in our gallery (Nitroglobus gallery) last week.
Looking smashing as always he visited our present exhibition 'Body' by Paola Mills.
Mr. S. is a well known photographer and he made the photo in the right corner of the collage of me. It's simply wow; luv it. Thanks soooo much Mr. S. (hugs & kisses). More photos of Mr. S. on his Flickr account

But hey I also wanna show you the lovely PD (Predicous Designs) Paradise city mesh dress, which comes with a HUD to change the color of the dress AND in normal and fitted mesh sizes. Smexy dress with a great back too.

And now for something completely different: the Roots and Wings Clothing Minerva Steampunk blouse and Arabella Bustle Skirt. I like these items, they are well made, fit purfectly and the textures are really different and cool.
The blouse as well as the skirt come in different colours. The NC mentioned the shop had moved to a new location so I'll give you the taxi to Roots and Wings

The hair is MINA's Nanda of course; not new but definitely one of my faves
The mesh body is Lara by Maitreya.

My eyes are Mayfly, look at them in the gorgeous photo Mr. S. made of me. Intriguing aren't they?
This evening I received a notecard of Arkesh the designer/owner of Mayfly in which she mentioned all Mayfly Luminous mesh eyes now use a super convenient HUD. The good news is that if you own Luminous eyes you get a free update next door to the Mayfly shop. Here's your taxi
There's also a new Keshie group gift: the Mayfly Luminous mesh eyes True Grey. Run girls ....

Wish you nice shopping.

'BODY' by Paola Mills at Nitroglobus gallery

It's soo cool and Nitro and I are truly proud to have Paola Mills showing her work at Nitroglobus again.
Her exhibition 'BODY' will be on the walls of our gallery during the months of February & March 2015.

Here's Paola's interpretation of this exhibition:

The body, the shell of our soul
Is not just a wrap, without emotions
You can treat your body, be aesthetically perfect
But the eyes that look at you
Full of love and compassion
Will only see an empty container
Devoided of any charm
Begin your journey of life
Starting from your interior
When you want to catch the real beauty

Who's Paola Mills?
Mmm, I don't think Paola needs an introduction, however, for those who don't know her, here's a short resume;

Paola is Italian. She signed up to Second Life in 2007 because she's been passionate about video games since I was a girl.

She's not a professional photographer in RL, but does like to make pictures when she sees something she likes, for instance a person or a situation.
Second Life has allowed her to develop, without the need for powerful means, her emotionalism: i.e. catch the moment of a specific feeling into simple shots; stills that stop time for a few seconds.

Paola looks upon herself as an end user of Second Life, taking advantage of the ability of creators who know how to give reality to the bodies of the avatars and those who know how to give motion by the use of poses. She merged these two aspects, a study of body language of a human body.

The party's over now

Paola Mills

Yesterday, Thursday 4th April we celebrated the opening party of the exhibition 'Two Souls Meeting' by Paola Mills and Maloe Vansant, two very creative persons who make awesome photos in Second Life.

It was a nice party, DJ Lex played great tunes and many attended and enjoyed. Well known faces but also new ones.
Here are a few of the (too) many photos I made to give you an impression. I start with my paparazzo shots of the two artists in front of their art.

Wish you all a super weekend!

Two Souls Meeting; April exhibition at Nitroglobus Gallery

The theme of this exhbition is EMOTIONS.
And, there are a lot of emotions in the artwork of both photographers. Although Paola and Maloe have a different style, they share the need to express themselves in strong sometimes edgy work.

Lemme tell you something about these artists:

MALOE VANSANT has been around Second Life since 2007 and she started with taking snapshots and making a sort of graphic diary of Maloe's journey in Second Life, showing the emotions Maloe experienced. She uses photoshop to postprocess her work.
To Maloe her photography in SL is a way of expressing her creativity, her passion, her feelings and emotions experienced in this pixel world and maybe also her dark side.

PAOLA MILLS also signed up Second life in 2007, after hearing a lot about Linden Lab in the media and being passionate about video games ever since she was a girl. Paola isn't a professional RL photographer but she does like to take pictures when she sees something she likes; a person or a situation, that's the reason she always carries a small camera in her bag.

Second Life has allowed her to develop, without the need for powerful means, her emotionalism: by capturing a feeling into simple shots that freeze that specific moment in time.
Unlike many artists in the metaverse she works her snapshots in handicraft way using minimum graphic editing software.
Paola hopes her photos can be a stimulus of irony, emotions and feelings and that her photography goes beyond a simple observation of the photographer itself.

Interested? Do come and visit, you won't regret.
