MINIMAL by dido haas @ dido's part of Nitroglobus

Last week I changed dido's part of Nitroglobus: replacing 'RED SKY' by Mihailsk with the 8 images of my exhibition 'MINIMAL', so yeah I am back at my part of the gallery.

For this exhibition MINIMAL I got out of my comfort zone and made totally different works than I usually do. There's only one avatar study (Introspection), which to be honest isn't really fitting into the theme of the exhibition. However, what's an exhibition by me without a nude ðŸ˜Š

The images shown depict several scenes which make you wonder 'what is happening there'? Use your imagination and make up your own story. BUT of course it's also ok to just look around and like or not like the images shown. Most important is you enjoy your time at the gallery.

The theme MINIMAL refers to the shop with the same name, where I found the objects and scenes used in this exhibition.

3D Art installed for this exhibition at dido's part of the gallery: 'Mothers Lab' by JadeYu Fhang as well as the cool cloud trees by Venus Adored.

Opening party for Hikaru's exhibition My Reflection @ Nitroglobus

Yeah, a bit late, but better late than never, here a bunch of images which I made at the opening party on 27 September for Hikaru Enimo-Lefevre's exhibition My Reflection at Nitroglobus gallery.

It was a cool party with music by exquisite singer Samm Qendra, who after 1,5 hr of great songs and lots of oohhs and aaahs from the audience, was followed by the uplifting sounds of DJ hEIN. Venus Adored made the gallery look awesome with her particles. Some particles she made specially for this exhibition.

My sincere thanks to all performing artists for making this party one to remember!

My Reflection by Hikaru Enimo-Lefevre

poster made by David Silence, based on an image of Hikaru

October 2021, showing 'My Reflection' an exhibition @ Nitroglobus by Hikaru Enimo-Lefevre.

Proud to present this icon of Second Life, who is exhibiting in my gallery.
Who doesn't know Hikaru, who shoulders several roles entrusted to him over the years, many of which involves photography - being a blogger, model, stylist, blogger manager, store manager, Neo-Japan SL Event Co-Founder, and lastly but no less his pet-project, he is also the Owner and Editor-in-Chief of L'Homme Magazine SL.

The exhibition 'My Reflection' is in Hikaru's own words: 'the habit of deliberately paying attention to once own thoughts, emotions, decisions, and behaviors. Periodically it reflected back on an event and how it was handled, in hopes that to learn something from it and make better decisions in the future'.

Some overview snapshots I made of the gallery:

IN THE PRESS:

Inara Pey wrote as always an indepth analysis of Hikaru's exhibition in her blog Living in a Modemworld.

Quote from Inara's article:

'And it is in the idea of contained narrative that Reflections further unfolds before us. For while these are images intended to reflect Hikaru’s own moods, thoughts, feelings – and yes, his vitality – at the time of their creation, such is their depth and composition, we cannot help be see each as part of a larger canvas.

Each image invites us in to it, awakening our imaginations to weave stories that can fill the rest of that unseen canvas. Stories in which our own role might also be defined: are we merely a observer of a moment in Hikaru’s life, or are we an invisible participant – lover, partner, friend, passer-by – looking upon someone we care for, like or just happen to see – or who has caught us unexpectedly within his gaze?'

Frank Atisso also wrote an intriguing article 'Hikaru's Thoughtful Scenes at Nitroglobus' in his blog ART KORNER

Quote from Frank's article:

'Photographers or artists seek to form a connection with their viewer in some manner. For some it is an emotional connection established through various ways while others evoke memories from the past to build this rapport. For Hikaru, it is his intense, reflective gaze that establishes a connection with the viewer instantly. In some images, he is lost in thought as he gazes into the distance while in others, he reflects on things accompanied by a faithful canine companion'.

Diomita Maurer wrote an interesting review about My Reflection in her blog 'Diomita and Jenny Maurer's blog' and posted several images of the artworks.

Quote from Diomita's article:

'Hikaru’s pictures are taken in Second Life and processed to highlight effects and details. In all of the a male avatar is in the center. A few are explicitly erotic, which is rare for male avatars in Second Life. Hikaru obviously like his dog as it appears in several of the pictures. Nonetheless all pictures are very different, none seem to be part of a series. And as always, the mirroring effect of the floor adds a lot to the presentation of the art.'

Moreover, there was a short article about the exhibition published in Edition 38 of Limoncello News. Thanks so much Fenella!

and last but not least Red Bikcin mentioned the exhibition in her 'Guia de Exposiciones',which she published on Facebook every month.

Of course there was a party and wow what a party this was with super cool live music by singer Samm Qendra and ditto tunes of DJ hEIN, accompanied by the awesome particles of Venus Adored. I will make a separate blogpost to fit in all the images I made of guests visiting the party.

Wonderland 2.0

I so love the color of the sky here

Today I visited Wonderland 2.0, a truly magical and fun place to explore. I received the LM of Caytorias, who is a serious explorer and supplies me every month with a long list of LM's of cool places to visit. Blows a kiss to Caytorias, appreciate darling.

Be aware when you visit Wonderland 2.0 coz it takes a lot of time to see (almost) all; allow yourself at least 2.5 hours to wander around and of course do make loads of images.
The land info is very brief and gives the following instruction: 'Go down the rabbit hole and find yourself in Alice's abandoned park. Adult cuddles, unicorns and magic everywhere.' Which is what I did and I stepped into this extensive and well made fantasy land.

The sim is created by Lucifer/Sam (samael Morningstar) with some help from his friends as he indicates.

While wandering around the place I met Lucifer, the owner/creator of the place. He showed me around and also took me to a few places I had overlooked. One of them was a sort of 'hidden place': a more futuristic space in blue, which wasn't entirely finished according to Lucifer. Some of the objects in the room reminded me of Gem Preiz's Borderless project, which I told Lucifer. He got all enthousiastic when I told him Gem is a fractal artist, as Lucifer loves fractals. Lucifer said he would visit Borderless (a project at Akijima, Aki's place) asap.

When I asked Lucifer what drove him to make this sim he answered: 'I only made Wonderland, with some help from someone special, because I want a magical and chaotic place in SL to play. I wish to share that with others, i.e. I want people to enjoy SL and the best way to do that is with crazy magical builds that take your breath away.
Well he succeeded in this goal coz I had a lovely afternoon.

Note for photographers: when you join the land group you get rez rights to share the madness 😀

At Wonderland there are a lot of places to sit, relax, cuddle and more (after all it is an adult region). Go and explore the place and have fun.
